I giggle to myself as he agrees and roll my blue eyes as he runs up to take my hand and practically drag me across the parking lot. "People are staring." I hiss, though there's a grin on my face before I take Jayson's hand again to lead him into Walmart and towards the candy aisle. "I want a rockstar, too." I mumble to myself, pulling a couple packages of gummy worms off the rack.

Jayson giggled. "So? I don't give two fucks," He scoffed, smiling at her and snatching a basket. When they reached the aisle he began to pile it full of gummy worms, straightening up after filling it without a care a the price before nodding and towing her to the drink fridge, pulling out two Rockstars. "Ready? Les'go," He huffed.

I shake my head with a laugh at his reply and raise my eyebrows as he piles the basket full of gummy worms. "I'm paying you back for this." I say firmly, following Jayson back to the front and resting an arm on his shoulder playfully. "Yep." I reply even though he's already walking around and I follow him over to the chec out line, running a hand through my violet hair. "Wanna just put the tailgate down to eat?" I ask after a moment, looking over at him.

Jayson laughed. "No you aren't," He insisted stubbornly, smirking as she rested her arm on his shoulder. He got up to the check out and dumpe the basket onto the conveyer belt, nodding at her question with a smile. "Works for me," He chirped, setting the Rockstars on the belt as well and pulling out his wallet.

"Yes." I reply, leaning against him as I pull my boot up and unsnap it to pull out a five and a couple ones and hand it to him before putting my foot back down. "You better keep it cuz I'm not putting it back." I state, crossing my foot over another as I smile at Jayson innocently. I chuckle at the cashier's face as he dumps the gummy worms on the conveyer belt and I step down the line to take the bags when she's done ringing them up.

Jayson whined in complaint, making faces every time the cashier lookeddown to ring up another package of gummy worms. She finally finished and had them bagged up and Jayson handed over what Londyn had given him, and then pulled the rest out of his wallet, waiting for his receipt and change.

I laugh as he makes faces and look down at my feet as she glances at me, not knowing what was going on. I sniffle and bite my lower lip in an attempt to keep from laughing and grab the bags and start towards the door after Jayson gets his change, looking over at him. "You're horrible." I chuckle, shaking my head.

Jason bounced after her, snickering as she said he was horrible. "No," He complained, laughing. "Just fun." He winked playfully, approaching the truck and dropping the hitch before flipping the latch on a container there and pulling out a fluffy blanket, spreading it out in the back.

"You are fun." I agree, nodding and looking both ways before walking across the parking lot towards the truck. "Manly." I comment sarcastically as Jayson spreads out a blanket ebfore I set the bags down and crawl up, sitting cross legged in the back before reaching for a packet of gummy worms and pulling it open, sticking one in my mouth before holding another out to him.

Jayson rolled his eyes. "I like watching the stars," He whined, sticking his tongue out at her before smiling. He sprawled out on his back, reaching out and taking a gummy worm from the bag, dropping it into his mouth and chewing slowly.

"Evenmore manly." I chuckle, huffing as he didn't take the offered gummy worm and stick it in my mouth instead. I lay back beside Jayson, nudging him with my elbow playfully and sticking two gummy worms in my mouth. "Thanks." I say quietly, not looking at him. He hadn't judged- at least not yet. He hadn't laughed or anything, either, which made him good in my book.

Jayson just scoffed playfully at her taunting, glancing over at her when she nudged him. He smiled a bit as she thanked him. "Not a problem...you needed a new friend." He reached over and ruffled her hair gently, gazing back up at the puffy white clouds and the slightly lowering sun a moment before glancing back over at her again, reaching for another gummy worm and placing it in his mouth lazily.

I pop a couple more gummy worms in my mouth, sitting up to reach for the Rockstar still in the bag and I crack it open to take a sip before putting it off to the side. I huff as Jayson reaches over to ruffle my hair and I slap his hand away playfully, rolling my blue eyes. I reach into his bag to steal a gummy worm to stick it in my mouth. "Your's look better." I whine, a soft giggle escaping me.

Jayson laughed. "They do not," He complained, snatching her Rockstar and taking a sip before sticking his tongue out. He set it back where she had put it and opened his own, biting into another gummy worm before taking a sip. He sat up straighter next to her, reaching over to fix her hair and searching her face gently. He couldn't help it though, and leaned down to kiss her gently.

"You have your own." I huff even though I'd just took some of his gummy worms. I roll my blue eyes and stick another worm in my mouth, looking over as Jayson sat up and fiddled with my hair. I'm about to complain when he leans forward to press his lips to mine. I freeze, my eyes going wide. I press my hands to his chest to push him away, fear in my eyes. I wasn't afraid of Jayson, I was afraid of being betrayed again, afraid of my memories. I was afraid of falling in love. I quickly slide off the tailgate, wanting to get away. I take off across the parking lot, not looking where I was going. A horn blares and, before I know it, I'm sliding over the hood of a small white car to land heavily on my back, the breath being knocked out of me.
