Hstorically: The Gryffon family history is a grim one. They grew up happy, a married couple and four kids. But as they grew older, Jacob came to that age of being able to drive. He was sixteen, Tyler fifteen, and the twins just entering their teenage years. It was their fathers birthday and Jacob was just past buzzed on alcohol. He knew Tyler knew, but Ty kept quiet because he'd ingested his share of alcohol as well. The twins understood the situation, Shawn insisted they don't rat their brothers out, not on their fathers birthday. Jacob was driving far too fast that night, looked back to say something and swerved into the other lane. Head on collision with another car. He got away without manslaughter, but killed the family of four in the opposite vehicle. Their father died in the passenger seat of their own, and Shawn took a metal rod through the back, laming him below the waist. Devastated, the older brothers turned to booze. Jacob has begun to face his problem while Tyler has not. Even after two years, Cole is no loner the same. He doesn't laugh, doesn't joke. seems nearly mute. Shawn gets around life with a lame pair of legs, seems the most unaffected but bottles his grief inside. Having four kids to a widowed mother, she is often out working, trying to support the family, and Jacob has been left as man of the house.
Personality; Shawn is probably the most 'together' out of his brothers. He's the one who took the physical damage, and yet he is the one to challenge others the most. Upbeat, Shawn is a generally happy person and hates it when his brothers struggle in their lives. He doesn't care how people see him now, and he refuses to have many limits. Often seen smiling, he's hardheaded and stubborn, and refuses to hear that somebody has a life they can't be a little happy in, or change a little bit. Somebody worth keeping around, Shawn's a great person to talk to when you're feeling stressed or blue.
